Dr. Auerbach is a Board Certified, fellowship-trained adult and pediatric spine and scoliosis surgeon. He specializes in simple, complex and revision surgery of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. He has a special interest in pediatric and adult spinal deformities, including scoliosis, kyphosis, and spinal tumors. He recently joined the Department of Orthopaedics at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center as the Chief of Spine Surgery, and is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York.
Dr. Auerbach has performed clinical and laboratory research that has resulted in over 50 peer-reviewed articles in medical journals. He has also written dozens of book chapters on spinal surgery, presented research at national and international meetings, and has received numerous research grants and awards. Dr. Auerbach's primary research focuses on patient safety during spine surgery to prevent neurologic injury. Dr. Auerbach’s expertise is in the surgical treatment of scoliosis and other spinal deformities, cervical spine (neck) problems, lumbar spine (back) problems, and spinal tumors (cancer of the spine).
